Preheat and Prepare:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square or round baking pan and line it with parchment paper.
Make the Cake Batter:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

- In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and lemon juice until smooth. Add more lemon juice if needed to reach your desired consistency.
- Stir in the lemon zest if using.
Glaze and Serve:
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake.
